What PVD coating is
Physical Vapour Deposition bonds a thin titanium-based layer to stainless steel inside a vacuum chamber. The result is a dense, decorative colour that resists scratching, tarnish and UV far better than paint - ideal for high-touch architectural surfaces.

Choosing the base metal for Jeddah's coastal air
PVD adds colour and scratch resistance, but the stainless grade underneath still governs corrosion at edges, welds and drilled holes. Interiors such as hotel lobbies, retail fit-outs and lift cars normally use SS304. Exterior cladding, entrance portals, railings and anything within reach of sea spray use SS316, polished to the required finish and then coated in a single batch. Read 304 or 316 for coastal façades in Jeddah.

PVD coating — frequently asked questions
What is the difference between PVD coating and electroplating?
PVD bonds a thin titanium- or zirconium-based layer to polished stainless steel inside a vacuum chamber, so it resists scratching, tarnish and UV without lacquer. Electroplating deposits gold, chrome, nickel, brass or copper in a chemical bath; it suits brass and cast pieces but is softer and usually needs lacquer on high-touch surfaces. Both processes run in our Jeddah facility. See PVD coating vs electroplating.
Can PVD-coated stainless steel be used outdoors in Jeddah?
Yes. For façades, entrance portals and railings within reach of sea spray we specify SS316 as the base metal, polish it to the required finish and coat it in a single batch. A fresh-water rinse every one to three months keeps salt off the surface.
Will the colour match across every panel of a project?
Yes. Each project is coated in a single batch and inspected against an approved sample under controlled light, so the tone stays consistent from panel to panel.
How do I clean and maintain PVD stainless steel?
Wipe with a soft microfibre cloth and warm water with a few drops of neutral soap, then rinse and dry. Avoid abrasive powders, scouring pads, bleach and chloride cleaners. Full routine in our PVD care guide.
How long does PVD coating take and how do I get a quote?
Lead time is quoted per project because it depends on quantities, base finish and fabrication. Send drawings or a sample through our Request a Quote page or on WhatsApp +966 54 655 2741 and we reply within one business day.
