What finishing is

The surface beneath every colour. We polish stainless to a uniform, flawless character - the base that decides how a PVD or plated colour reads under light.

Surface finishing — frequently asked questions

Which surface finishes do you offer on stainless steel?

Mirror, super mirror, satin, hairline and matte. The finish is chosen per element: mirror for jewel-like trims and sculpture, hairline or satin for large panels and high-touch surfaces where fingerprints must not show.

Why does finishing matter before PVD coating?

PVD reproduces the surface it is applied to. A flawless mirror or an even hairline grain under the coating is what gives champagne gold or black PVD its depth; any scratch left before coating shows through permanently.

Can different finishes be combined on one piece?

Yes. A mirror face with hairline returns, or a satin frame around a mirror panel, is common in hospitality work. The transition lines are masked and finished in the same workshop so grain direction and gloss are consistent.

How do I keep a hairline or mirror finish clean?

Wipe along the grain with a soft cloth and a mild, chloride-free cleaner, then dry. Avoid abrasive pads and bleach-based products. PVD-coated surfaces follow the same routine and resist fingerprints better than bare stainless.
